for some reason, the last several days i have been sampling the audience sourced shows for years that i really haven't given much attention to, such as 1970 to '72 (check out 10/30/72 for a great audience show), but it's tonite's listen, 6/18/83 at Saratoga Springs that has really floored me, an amazing 2nd set captured by Jeff Silberman, and the one thing which strikes me immediately is that the sound on this beast is the SOUND that most readily puts me right there at the show, the mix is perfect, LOUD, INTENSE, the show you want to CRANK at max volume because it fits so lovely between your ears and recalls those great times you had way back when; check out the stunning and incendiary Scarlet > Fire, the rolling and rowdy Playin', and a Morning Dew that most definitely delivers, and a version that Charlie Miller calls the "best Morning Dew that I have ever seen or heard" ... is that proof enough? Give this wicked good set a listen, and then download it to save your life!

This is a show that I'm hoping a nice soundboard turns up some day. I've got both aud sources and actually prefer the other source over the Silberman digital recording. Reading the reviews for both sources show that many listeners agree with Arb and like the quality of the first digital recording made and others agree with me. The one thing we can all agree on is the 2nd set is very nicely played.

Some other nice auds from '83 include 9/2, 9/10, 9/11 and 10/12. The fall tour was especially well played.

interesting, i didn't give the other aud source a listen, but will now on your recommendation, thanks; at the moment, i'm listening to the 2nd set Hanscom FOB capture of the 4/26/83 Spectrum show, and so far ... not bad at all ... we are so fortunate to have this incredible archive!!
